Privacy, in plain words.

We collect as little as we can. Here is all of it.

The short version

  • We collect your email address when you sign up.
  • We use it to send you our newsletter.
  • We never sell it or rent it.
  • You can leave, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

What we collect

  • Your email address, when you type it into a signup form.
  • Which form you used, and when. For example the home page or the quiz.
  • One quiz choice. If you take the quiz, we save whether you ticked the box to get the newsletter. Your quiz answers are only used to show your result. We do not save them.
  • Your IP address, briefly. We use it to stop spam signups. We keep only a scrambled version of it, and we clear that out regularly.

What we do with it

  • Send you the newsletter you asked for.
  • Count signups, so we know what is working.
  • Keep spam and bots out.

That is all.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your email address.
  • We do not show ads on this site.
  • We do not use tracking cookies or analytics on this site today. If that changes, we will update this page.

The emails we send

Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you are off the list.

Our emails can tell us if they were opened and which links were clicked. We use that to learn what helps, and to stop emailing people who never open them.

Who helps us run this

We use a few companies to run the site. They only get what they need to do their job.

  • Vercel hosts the site.
  • Neon stores the signup list.
  • MongoDB and Amazon Web Services store the list and send the emails for our newsletter tool.
  • Google Fonts and Tailwind send your browser the fonts and styles for each page, and some photos load from Shopify. Like on most websites, that means they see your IP address.

Your data is stored in the United States.

Your choices

  • Leave the list. Use the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • See, fix or delete your data. Email us at getshuttr@gmail.com. We will do it within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you more rights over your data. Email us and we will help.

Kids

This site is not meant for children under 13. If you think a child gave us an email address, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this page, we will change the date at the top.
